Is Cryoskin safe? What side effects should I expect?
The treatments are very safe and non-invasive. Many clients visit us during their lunch break or immediately before a workout. There is no down-time after the treatment. In terms of side effects, they are minor. Sometimes localized redness is observed that disappears after a few hours. Occasionally there is some local pain that rarely exceeds 2 to 3 hours. There may also be a hive-like reaction with some itching and redness that typically resolves over the next 24-48 hours without consequences.
How long does it take to see results?
Results may be noticed immediately, but typically they become more noticeable over the days following treatment. It can take up to a few weeks for the body’s lymphatic system to fully clear the dead fat cells and therefore it should be noted that the best results appear from 15 days to 3 weeks after the start of treatment and extend for several months after the end of treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
It is recommended to treat specific areas between 3 – 6 times for best results.
How long will my results last?
The results can last for years as long as you maintain your weight, but it is recommended to schedule 1-2 treatments every 6 months while maintaining a healthy diet and exercise. The success of a treatment varies from person to person. Those clients who are already living a healthy lifestyle have reported to have better results at keeping the fat off. However, the fat CAN return IF you are not working to keep from gaining weight.
How often can I do Cryoskin?
Clients electing to do CryoSlimming can do treatments every 15 days. This allows for the dead fat cells to cycle through the lymphatic system. Clients electing to do CryoToning can do treatments everyday, but we typically recommend once per week.
Who can't have Cryoskin treatments?
Clients with the following health conditions:
- Severe Raynaud’s syndrome
- Very poor circulation
- Pregnant women
- Severe diabetes
- Liver disease
- Kidney disease
Also, please allow one month following botox or fillers before having cryoskin treatments on the same area.
What should I do to prepare for my treatment?
To get the best results from your Cryoskin session, you should not eat any sugar for a minimum of 2 hours beforehand. The reason for this is that sugar is a strong power source for fat cells.
Please be aware that when we talk about sugar, we mean all kind of sugars such as complex carbohydrates (pasta, rice, bread, cereals, fruit) and of course fast-acting sugar and alcohol sugars.
If possible, avoid all types of sugar for 4-5 hours before the treatment but 2 hours is considered adequate.
Avoid exercise immediately before your treatment as it will make it more difficult to cool the body down and get an effective slimming treatment.
Maintaining a healthy diet and exercise regimen prior to your treatment will set you up for success.
What should I do after my treatment?
Just as in preparation for your treatment, you should avoid consuming all types of sugar for a minimum of 2 hours after your treatment. The freezing effect from the treatment weakens and retracts the adipocyte but if you eat sugar, that will give it back immediate energy so the apoptosis effect will be less efficient even could be canceled. If possible, avoid sugar for 4-5 hours after your treatment.
Keep alcohol intake to a minimum for approximately 4 days following your treatment so as not to overload the liver’s ability to process the fat cells from your blood.
Drink at least 1.5 L water each day to assist in the body’s ability to flush the fat cell waste products from your body.
Maintain the best possible diet and lifestyle to accompany the treatments.
Avoid infrared saunas for 4-5 days following your treatment.
How many areas can be treated in one session?
Only one area should be treated in a session. If you treat more than one area, too many fat cells will be released into the bloodstream and the liver can be overloaded. Also, we cannot increase the treatment zone in order to treat a bigger area within a session as the results won’t be effective.
Are there any clients for whom this treatment is not effective?
CryoSlimming treatments are not beneficial for clients requiring weight loss but rather for the vast
majority of those who have unsightly cellulite or fatty areas (often due to poor diet, poor lifestyle or a static workplace, for example). Clients who are considered overweight, as in having a BMI over 30 will not benefit from CryoSlimming treatments.
